Inside Peek: Ad Team, Fourteenth Meeting

Before the meeting, I looked at the promotions that Mary Kay had put on previously. They did have a successful “Fall Into Your Beauty” college tour that many students really enjoyed. Mary Kay visited several colleges putting on makeup demonstrations for students, trying out new products, interactions with independent beauty consultants, and giveaways throughout the day. I wanted to see what they were already doing and what they could do better. I also wanted to flush out my contest idea before I presented it to the rest of the team. I wanted to make sure it was perfect!

During the meeting, we went over the discussion from the concept testing that was the night before. Luckily, we were able to figure out what would appeal to our target audience and how we should move forward. It was interesting to hear the different opinions from the girls who attended.

Each team talked about what they had worked on throughout the week. Our group explained the different ideas we had for events and promotions and expanded what more we could do. I was able to present my idea, and luckily, everyone loved it! I could not be more excited. Everyone had some very good ideas that we plan on looking more into.

Research was the last team to present their ideas. They worked on a way to change the negative perception Mary Kay has in several aspects. They have one of the hardest positions because it is very difficult to change someone’s mind once it has been set for so long.

For the next meeting, we should have a finalized concept with working art and promotions.
