Inside Peek: Ad Team, Fifteenth Meeting

Between our team meetings, we meet with our groups to discuss and work on certain pieces of the campaign. These smaller meeting help each group work on specific details for the big ideas mentioned during our weekly meetings by the whole group.

Ad Team BooksDuring my group meeting, we specifically work on sponsorships, partnerships, events, promotions, and media placements. Our campaign is still very broad since we have not hammered out all our big ideas. We try to come up with out of the box ideas that would work well with Mary Kay’s personality and things they would not steer clear from. This requires a lot of attention to details and research of previous events they have held.  The rough draft for our book, which is one of our grades, is due Feb. 11. Each group is to turn in five pages of detailed information that explains what they have been working on and what will appear in the campaign. Of course, they are most likely going to turn in a much larger “paper” because we will split into groups later and fine tune it with what fits best in the book.

The team’s weekly meeting went very well. Most groups have the big picture and just need to gather details to their ideas. Research is still working on target segments, which will be important when we discuss how we are targeting each individual in the audience. They are also worked on rebranding Mary Kay to fit with the younger demographics. Creative is still working on visuals, which are looking incredible! They have also been discussing video options to better portray the creative concept. Some members of creative are working on book design and layout which will be discussed further down the road.

Our directors told the team about our ideas for promotions and events in a timeline. It is important for everyone to be on the same timeline to figure out when things will be in place, if we decide on phases where they will go, how the entire campaign will look, etc. The directors also explained our guerrilla tactics that we thought of and possibly philanthropic or sponsorships for Mary Kay.

Until our next meeting, everyone is tasked with writing out detailed information about what we are working on to turn in for the rough draft of the book. Hopefully, when we present our rough drafts, Bichard will enjoy our details and we can get a good grade!

There is still a lot of work ahead of us. It seems like our schedules are about to get hectic with the due date for the book coming up in just a few weeks.
