MCTV Newscast: 4-25

In this Thursday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Elene Khajishvili and Macy Ranzer are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus.

First, the end of the semester is less than two weeks away, and the calendar of events is packed between now and next week. We’ll have a look at just one day from the week so far that included options to learn about student research, test your green thumb, or watch some Red Raiders use their voice to compete for cash.

Also, the diversity here at Texas Tech has been on display throughout the semester during a series of events hosted by the language programs of the Department of Creative and Modern Languages and Literatures. MCTV’s Mia Fletcher stopped by one of the last events before the end of classes to experience some traditions from the Arabic world.

Later, a couple Texas Tech teams have already been in action this week, but neither met to expectations by the end of their competitions. MCTV’s Jade Hernandez has a wrap up of the action since Monday along with a preview of what’s ahead for Tech Athletics in Sports.

And with finals starting next Thursday, many students are stressing out at the thought of upcoming exams. MCTV’s Cooper Beaumariage headed across campus last week to an event that gave some Red Raiders an escape from coursework to enjoy a friendly competition with a unique prize.

All this and more in today’s newscast!
