Lubbock police announce arrests in connection to weekend double homicide

Lubbock Police announced three arrests were made in a double homicide case that occurred on April 4. Mia Altamirano, 17, and Michael Bean, 20, were pronounced dead at the scene and two other victims sustained life-threatening injuries.

Janda-Lee Roberson, 18 (Lubbock County Detention Center)

Ricky Clardy Jr., 20, and Malachi Gibson, 18, are alleged by police to have approached the front door of the victim’s residence sparked a deadly altercation. Clardy discharged multiple shots from a firearm striking the four victims before fleeing the scene. All four victims were transported to University Medical Center, according to the LPD press release.

Clardy, who was previously incarcerated at the Lubbock County Detention Center for a felony parole violation and a felony arson warrant, now has a murder warrant added. Gibson has been booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center for the involvement in the murders, according to the release. Janda-Lee Roberson was also arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center for failure to report a felony; she is sitting on a $75,000 bond.

Clardy is being held on a combined $600,000 bond, while Gibson is being held on a $500,000 bond.
