College of Media & Communication to Offer Online Graduate Program

The people asked, and the college will oblige!

In the Converging News E-Newsletter e-mailed on Jan. 15, Dean David Perlmutter announced the College of Media and Communication will soon offer an online graduate program.

In the e-mail, Perlmutter wrote the current master’s program is very successful, setting new enrollment records each year. According to records found on the Texas Tech website, the College of Media and Communication has seen a more than 50 percent increase in graduate student enrollment from the fall 2012 to fall 2013 semester.

Perlmutter went on to write that people from around the world have expressed interest in an online graduate program.

“I love Texas Tech, but you aren’t here,” Perlmutter quoted inquiries he’s received from out-of-town Tech alumni about the college’s graduate programs.

Perlmutter wrote the goal of the online program is to be convenient for students, but will still uphold the integrity the college is known for.

The online graduate program is expected to be introduced later this year.
