MCTV Newscast: 4-29

In this Spring semester finale edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Kiley Phillips and Peter Richardson are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus.

First, protests on college campuses are growing as the Israel-Hamas conflict continues overseas. Find out how one student organization at Texas Tech joined other universities to bring attention to the issue with hopes of ending the violence.

Also, with spring in full swing, the Texas Tech campus celebrated the season with a long running tradition that put the Tech community’s green thumbs to the test. We’ll have a look at the 2024 edition of Arbor Day.

Later, members of the Lubbock community flocked to the university’s Greenhouse and Horticultural Gardens over the weekend for a chance to spruce up their home and yard on the cheap. MCTV’s Luke Johnson braved the crowds to see how a once a year sale helps beautify the campus.

And the Texas Tech Baseball and Softball teams are down to the last weeks of regular season play before heading to the Big 12 Tournament. MCTV’s Joshua Ermis has a wrap up of all the action from this past weekend along with the details on some Red Raiders who heard their name called in the NFL Draft in Sports.

Thanks for joining us for the Spring semester run of the MCTV Weekday Update. Be sure to check back in September for more news and information about the Tech community.
