MCTV Newscast: 4-11

In this Thursday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Macy Ranzer and Peter Richardson are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus.

First, a campus group called on Texas Tech students to give of their time and put their creativity to use to bring a smile to the faces of some local residents next month. MCTV’s Elisabeth Herring stopped by the SUB to see how scissors, paper, and a little bit of love helped some Red Raiders create a unique gift for Mother’s Day.

Also, a potential new attraction here in Lubbock excited local residents looking for another option for summer entertainment, but those hopes are gone after some questionable information hit social media yesterday. We’ll have the latest details on the state of the Aqua Cabana Water Park.

Later, the Texas Tech Baseball team stepped up to the plate last night and left the diamond with a page in the program’s history books. Find out what statistic now includes the names of some current Red Raider athletes after a successful start to a six game road trip.

And skill, school spirit, and lots of practice have helped prepare a group of Red Raiders for their biggest competition of the year. MCTV’s Maresa Sisk has a special look at Tech Cheer’s last performance on campus before heading across the country in hopes of bringing home another championship trophy.

All this and more in today’s newscast!
