In this Thursday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Elene Khajishvili and Makayla McDonnell are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus.

First, students and their parents received some good news today after the most recent meeting of the Texas Tech Board of Regents. We’ll let you know how an important decision will give some financial relief to the Red Raider community.

Also, the Student Government Association is preparing for their annual elections, which are less than a week away. Find out how potential future SGA leaders came together to help students make an informed decision when they head to the online polls.

Later, the West Texas weather has been more unpredictable than normal this week, even causing a rare occurrence that had many people fearing for their safety. Weather Specialist Elisabeth Herring has a wrap up of all of this week’s wacky weather and a look at what to expect for the weekend in the MCTV forecast.

And after days of anticipation, campers at the makeshift Raider Row campground headed into the United Supermarkets Arena to watch the Red Raider Basketball team take on the Texas Longhorns for the final time in regular season Big 12 play. But could the historic showdown live up to the hype?
