Tech student sexually assaulted by professor on campus

The Texas Tech Police Department issued an email notification about a sexual assault that happened on campus Thursday, March 26. A female Tech student was meeting with a professor in the Kinesiology Building when allegedly he forcibly fondled her breasts.

The professor was identified and has been prohibited from all campus facilities and further contact with students, according to the notification. The notice was issued in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

Texas Tech is currently imposing campus-wide building closures in response to COVID 19, according to the notification. Similar offenses can be reported at any time to TTPD dispatch 806-742-3931 or 806-743-2000.
