“Blood Moon” Inspires Photographers

Last night’s social media feeds were filled with photos of the moon during various stages of an eclipse. Professional and iPhone images alike elicited expressions of awe.

This rare astronomical event combined a supermoon, an occurrence of the full moon reaching its closest point to the earth, with a lunar eclipse, to create a “blood moon.” In West Texas, it began at 8:07 p.m. and lasted until about 11:55 p.m.
