Texas Tech, Nepal Students’ Association Holds Candlelight Vigil (Photo Slideshow)

Candles illuminated Memorial Circle at Texas Tech University, as the community held a “Pray for Nepal” vigil.

In response to the earthquake in Nepal on April 25 that killed more than 5,500 citizens and destroyed thousands of homes, volunteers in the Lubbock community placed white candles in a chalk outline of the country, and a moment of silence was held. A few speakers shared their gratitude for help received thus far, and asked the people in attendance to continue praying.

Currently, the Texas Tech Nepal Students’ Association is collecting funds to aid the Nepalese people. Donations can be made directly to the organization, or through this link.
