Gunmen Rob Siblings at Home

Meadows_policeSiblings Deshawn and Tyrone Bobo were held at gunpoint and robbed at their home in Lubbock on Feb. 22 at 9:20 p.m.

According to the Lubbock police offense report, two suspects entered Deshawn and Tyrone Bobo’s house, located at 1909 E. Brown St., without consent, and Tyrone Bobo was assaulted.

Sergeant Jason Lewis, the Lubbock Police Department’s public information officer, said the male victim was hit upside the head with a gun, and the suspects demanded money.

Deshawn Bobo said she knew three of the four intruders, who are between the ages of 18 to 21. Deshawn Bobo identified one of the men as Terrance “Gadi” Neil, and another as Brent Mann. She provided pictures of Neil and Mann from Facebook.

She said two of the men came inside her home armed with guns, while two stayed outside.

“I had just come back from the store; it was about 8:45 p.m. when I walked in,” Deshawn Bobo said, “and my brother went back outside to do something with the car, and a guy walked up behind him, but we knew him so we didn’t think anything of it. He couldn’t put his mask on because all our neighbors were out, so he waited until he walked in the house.”

Deshawn Bobo said she was in the bathroom when the Neil first entered the house with her brother.

“I know Gadi,” Deshawn Bobo said. “It’s just like if one of my kids put a mask on.”

Deshawn Bobo said she argued with Neil and his accomplice, and she tried to attack back using her body.

“I walked right up to the gun and said y’all are going to have to shoot me,” Deshawn Bobo said. “Don’t mess with my family.”

Deshawn Bobo said they stole $140 and two cellphones, but a neighbor found one of the cellphones down the street later that night.

According to the offense report, the four men fled the scene and took off running down an ally.

Deshawn Bobo said the men left their car parked out front and the police impounded it. Deshawn Bobo identified the car as Mann’s sister’s car.

Sergeant Lewis said that there were no arrests made, and they are asking the public to provide any information on the suspects to further help the investigation.

“My daughter used to go to school with them, “Deshawn Bobo said. “ We used to be friends.”

Deshawn Bobo said she had a pretty good idea why the men did not like her or her family anymore.

“Gadi got mad at my niece because she wouldn’t mess with him,” Deshawn Bobo said, “and there was a report on 28 Street by Slaton, and the police had to go over there, and at that house was the same exact car that they did this crime in.”

Deshawn Bobo said the night of robbery the four men were in a vacant house across the street planning the attack.

“My neighbor told me she saw the door kicked in when she went to take the trash out,” Deshawn Bobo said, “and another neighbor said he saw some young guys walk out of the house, so I’m assuming it was them.”

Deshawn Bobo said she has not seen anything unusual since the robbery, but she does intend to press charges.

“They aren’t going to come in my house and take something I work hard for,” Deshawn Bobo said. “No, you’re just not going to do it. We work every day, we get up and go to work every day. You’re not going to take what belongs to me, and I’m not scared of you.”
