The Graduation Selfie

There are only a few days left until graduation, and whether you are ready or not, it is almost time to say goodbye to Texas Tech. One thing you want to be sure of doing, before leaving, is documenting your last semester at Tech by taking your senior pictures.  The days of awkwardly poses, fake smiles and grey backgrounds are over, I’ve seen your high school senior pictures. Thankfully we have a beautiful university to pose in front of and make your senior pictures a success or at least a great LinkedIn profile picture.

The ingredients to a great senior picture recipe are the following:

Admin

  • One awesome friend who can take the pictures. Offer an incentive, such as coffee or promotion to best friend status.
  • One camera. High resolution preferred. You can rent one for 48 hours from the Tech Library.
  • One killer outfit that accentuates you.
  • Three different Tech locations or more.
  • One genuine smile!

The following are three Tech locations that I picked for my senior pictures:

First Picture: The Administration Building

According to the Texas Tech website, the administration building was the first structure built on campus. This is one of my favorite locations because you can take pictures in front of any part of this building. My picture was taken in the back side of the building but you can try the front of the building to highlight the building’s structure or the try to pose by the arches that are in the back of the building too.

Ring

Second Picture: The Ring

As a symbol of my academic achievements I took a picture in front of the Texas Tech class ring that is located at the corner of the McKenzie-Merket Center. This location is a must!

Third Picture The Pfluger Fountain

I wanted to take a picture of me by the Pfluger fountain because it brings back memories from when I used to walk through the fountain on my way to classes at the old building for the College of Media and MemorialCircleCommunication.
