MCTV Newscast: 11-3

In this Monday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Yemi Akinyeye and Medhin Buriani are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus.  First, the Texas Tech Football Team faced the next hurdle in a potentially historic season as they headed to Manhattan, Kansas to attempt a win that has eluded them for nearly a decade.  MCTV’s Aiden Wasson has the details on the Tech versus Kansas State and whether or not the team finally found victory in the Little Apple.  Also, some current and future broadcast journalists gathered at the Media & Communication building over the weekend to hone their skills and learn from professionals in the field.  We’ll have a look at the Texas Association of Broadcaster’s Southwest Newsroom Workshop.  And if you’ve been around Lubbock for long, you’ve most likely heard of at least a few famous musicians who got their start in the Hub City. Find out how one local venue turns on the mic and opens up the stage each week, brining exposure to West Texans who could be taking their first steps to stardom.  All this and more in today’s newscast!
