Weed Eaters, Drug Deals, & False Alarms: Weekend Campus Crime Report

Crime reports released by the Texas Tech Police Department for March 22-24, 2013

March 22

  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated criminal mischief, which occurred in the Zone 2-D parking lot. An unknown person(s) smeared toothpaste on a vehicle, causing minor damage
  • A Texas Tech Officer documented damaged property, which occurred in the R-31 parking lot. The driver’s side window of a vehicle was shattered by debris from a weed eater.
  • A Texas Tech Officer documented information concerning the report of marijuana being sold at the south loading dock of the Student Union Building
  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated a traffic accident without injuries, which occurred in the R-3 parking lot.
  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated a false alarm, which occurred in Holden Hall. An unknown person(s) activated a fire alarm pull station, causing the building to be evacuated.
  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated criminal mischief in the Z3-F parking lot. A driver side mirror was damaged on a vehicle.
  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated criminal mischief on the 1st floor of Murdough Residence Hall. Two ceiling tiles were damaged.

March 23

  • A Texas Tech Officer documented the request for medical assistance in the C-16 parking lot.  Emergency Medical Services personnel transported a non-student to the Covenant Hospital emergency room for medical treatment due to the individual suffering from a possible heart attack.
  • A Texas Tech Officer arrested a student for possession of marijuana on the 7th floor of Weymouth Residence Hall.  The student was transported to the Lubbock County Jail.
  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated criminal mischief on the 1st floor of Murdough Residence Hall.  Two “exit” signs were damaged.
  • A Texas Tech Officer arrested a student for public intoxication on the 3rd floor of Chitwood Residence Hall.  The student was transported to the Lubbock County Jail.
  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated theft in the basement laundry room of Stangel Residence Hall.  One polo shirt and two T-shirts were taken.

March 24

  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated burglary of a vehicle in the Z-2B parking lot.  A vehicle’s front driver side window was broken out and the dash-board was damaged.
