In this Spring semester finale edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Kiley Phillips and Macy Ranzer are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus. First, the return of the sun and lack of rain gave many people a reason to get outside over the weekend after almost two straight weeks of storms across the South Plains area. MCTV’s Maresa Sisk joined hundreds of local residents to checkout a local farmers market that might just have what you need for an important upcoming holiday. Also, the National Ranching Heritage Center took advantage of the beautiful conditions to host a popular annual event, but that’s not the only reason the center is making headlines this week. MCTV’s Allison Brock stopped by the NHRC to discover a recent addition that is getting national recognition and helping educate the facility’s youngest visitors about the importance of ranch life. Later, Texas Tech offers several hundred options for students to get plugged into groups and organizations across the university, covering almost any Red Raider’s interest. But as MCTV’s Isa Castillo found out, getting involved can have more benefits than just finding something to do. And the Spring competition schedule for Texas Tech Athletics is nearing an end, but there are still several teams filling up the weekly calendar with hopes of finishing out on a high note. MCTV Sports’ Todd Eldridge has a look at the latest highlights, upcoming matchups, and big accolades from Red Raider teams and athletes who are still fighting for the red and black. All this and more in today’s newscast!
