MCTV Newscast: 3-27

In this Thursday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Elisabeth Herring and Kiley Phillips are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus.  First, the last week and a half on the Texas Tech campus has included explosions, power outages, evacuations from campus, and a big change the the Spring Break schedule.  We’ll have a wrap up of a story that captured the attention of not just the Texas Tech community, but people from around the country.  Also, just hours before the campus faced a crisis, university leaders gathered at the capitol in Austin to let state leaders know about how Texas Tech is changing the world.  MCTV’s Kiley Phillips hoped on a plane to join the Red Raider delegation and bring us the details from Texas Tech System Day 2025.  Later, the end of the Spring semester is just over six weeks away, and many students are still attempting to get their plans in place for the summer break.  MCTV’s Isa Castillo stopped by the SUB before Spring Break to discover options for employment that are offering Red Raiders unique opportunities to learn life skills while mentoring the next generation.  And the Texas Tech Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams have been traveling across the country the last couple weeks, facing more than just Big 12 competition.  MCTV’s Allie Scott has details on both teams successes in the post season, along with what’s coming up next on the hardwood as well as the diamond in Sports.  All this and more in today’s newscast!
