In this Monday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Natalie DuPre and Elene Khajishvili are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus. First, the Texas Tech Football team wasn’t looking forward to Saturday’s cold temperatures in Iowa, but they were ready to leave Ames with a chance to continue their season past conference play. We’ll have a look back at the Red Raiders showdown with Iowa State and let you know if the team is going bowling. Also, last Friday’s calendar of events was filled with options across campus as several groups took advantage of the last weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday. Find out how the Tech community had the chance to engage in important conversations about first generation students and rural Texas, while others competed to bring entrepreneurial dreams to reality. Later, the Museum of Texas Tech is open year-round, offering the public the chance to learn about a variety of topics while exploring the facility. MCTV’s Sara Wiechman has details on how the museum took one step beyond their permanent exhibits to bring some prehistoric creatures to life for kids of all ages. And the cold temperatures have brought several local outdoor markets to a close as the winter season approaches. But one weekly option just beyond the Lubbock city limits is still drawing crowds even as temperatures dip below the freezing mark. MCTV’s Sally McWilliams headed to the southwest side of town to get a special look at the Wolfforth Farmers Market. All this and more in today’s newscast!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving, and join us for more MCTV next week!
