In this Spring semester finale edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Anakin Rayos and Krizia Williams are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus. First, after a heated debate, a controversial new ordinance will soon become law here in the City of Lubbock. We’ll have the details on this past weekend’s election that allowed voters to declare the Hub City a “Sanctuary City for the Unborn”. Also, a long-running campus tradition went on hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but campus leaders made sure students had the chance to enjoy the event before the Spring semester came to a close. MCTV’s Patricia Perry has a special look at Arbor Day 2021. Later, the Texas Tech Baseball and Softball teams were back in action as they faced Big 12 foes, both at home and on the road, this weekend. MCTV’s Nathan Lee has a look back at both teams’ series in Sports. And with the semester nearing an end, most students are just ready for a break, but some are still trying to figure out what their future holds as they plan for the Fall. MCTV’s Claire Sigmund stopped by the west side of campus to see how one department took advantage of the spring weather to give Tech students a chance to learn all about what their field of study has to offer. All this and more in today’s newscast!
Thanks for joining us for the Spring semester run of the MCTV Weekday Update. Be sure to check back in early September for more news and information about the Tech community.
