In this Thursday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Peri Jacobs and Nick Tauschek are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus. First, Texas Tech officials were hoping to vaccinate thousands of students, faculty, and staff this month during a series of on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinics, but safety fears brought a halt to the primary vaccine being distributed here at Tech. Find out how a recent development is allowing the university to resume the clinics and how you can get vaccinated before the end of the semester. Also, the Free Market Institute has invited several speakers to campus this semester to talk about important topics effecting the US economy. But a recent event hosted by the FMI brought in a VIP whose words struck much deeper than the attendees pocket books. MCTV’s Stewart Woolley has the story of a woman who made a daring trip across the world “In Order to Live”. And despite the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurants around campus have been welcoming guests to dine in throughout the school year. However, one university eatery delayed their opening to make sure that things were just right for guests as they debuted some big changes this spring. MCTV’s Krizia Williams took a short trip across from campus to check out the menu and enjoy the views. All this and more in today’s newscast!
