In this Monday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Nathan Lee and Anakin Rayos are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus. First, the COVID-19 situation in Lubbock is continuing to worsen after health officials reported two record breaking statistics over the weekend. We’ll have the latest numbers from Lubbock County and the Texas Tech campus. Also, last week, those who have served our country were honored and remembered during the Veterans Day holiday. And even though there weren’t a lot of in-person option for Lubbock residents, MCTV’s Michael Lowery found one local attraction that took time to honor a special group of veterans who took on a risky role to help preserve our freedom. Also, the Texas Tech Football Team’s 2020 season has been a rough one, but the Red Raiders were hoping to score at least one more win at the Jones this weekend. MCTV’s Austin Seat has highlights and the final score from the game in Sports. And even though many campus groups and organizations have gone virtual for the Fall, there’s one team of students who have continued to meet with the goal of serving the student body. Reporter Lillian Dix has a special look at how the Student Government Association is surviving amidst the pandemic. All this and more in today’s newscast!
