MCTV Newscast Cancelled for Remainder of Spring 2020

The Spring semester edition of the MCTV Newscast has been cancelled due to schedule changes at Texas Tech in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last Thursday, the university announced that Spring Break was being extended an extra week, and that in-person courses would transition to online/remote instruction beginning on Monday, March 30th.  Originally, the change to online instruction was stated to take place until further notice, but on Tuesday evening, the university made the choice to extend online instruction through the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.  The university has also put out a plea to students to avoid campus, and that those who may be living in the residence halls attempt to move home if possible.

With the lack of students and restrictions on access to campus facilities, it will no longer be possible to produce the MCTV Newscast in its traditional form during the remainder of the Spring semester.  However, MCTV is exploring options to create limited content to be featured on the TTU Hub website.  MCTV hopes to begin posting this new content as early as next week.

In the meantime, you can continue to access previous MCTV content through the TTU Hub website or by visiting the MCTV YouTube channel by searching “MCTV Newscast”.

We at MCTV hope that everyone stays safe and healthy in this time of chaos.  And we hope to see you back for the Fall semester run of the MCTV Newscast in September.
