In this Thursday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Kamryn Mendoza and Bryant Torres are in studio with the latest news, information and events happening around campus. First, it’s Black History Month and Texas Tech University is taking time to recognize African Americans who have had a huge impact on our country. We’ll take you to one of the last of this year’s events where a TTU expert in history gave attendees an in-depth look at a group of soldiers who played a huge role in settling the American West. Also, the coronavirus has taken over headlines the last few weeks as the world tries to stay ahead of a deadly epidemic. MCTV’s Uvie Bikomo has a look at that story along with an update on the 2020 Presendential Campaign in our Weekly News Roundup. And both the men’s and women’s basketball teams headed north to Oklahoma this weekend, but the trip wasn’t as successful as either team would have hoped.
