I’m all for broadening my musical horizons, and I was pleasantly surprised after discovering the newest song by G-Eazy, “Get Away.” For this track, the California-based rapper teams up with the soulful R&B songtress Kehlani to remix her song, “Get Away.” G-Eazy raps the majority of the song, and Kehlani picks up during the chorus.
I have been exposed to G-Eazy one time before this, and there’s just something about his voice and the way he talks that gets you hooked. It’s also nice to see a rap track that isn’t completely centered around the cliche themes of being a hoodrat. With Kehlani’s crooning contrasting G-Eazy’s awesome beats and lines, “Get Away” has a perfect musical balance. Not to mention, this beat has a ton of emotion, and you genuinely hope he gets the girl by the end of the track. “Get Away” is a must for rap fans out there who want a track that’s not so party-heavy.
