Erika Laffin, an Electronic Media & Communications student from Fort Worth, is nearing the end of filming for her B-movie-style comedy horror, “Demon Sorority Lumberjacks.” Below are behind-the-scenes pictures taken on-location at Hell’s Gate, a local Lubbock site famous for its ghostly legends.

Director Erika Laffin sits behind a key light as she prepares to begin a bloody scene. Robert Pardue awaits her cue in the background.

Pardue (left) manically drizzles “blood” onto Keith Green’s (right) “wound.” The blood is a carefully crafted mix of corn syrup, chocolate syrup, and red food-coloring.

Green (left) and Alex Vletas (right) prepping for the night’s fight scene. Green does not seem to fare well.

Green (far left), Pardue (middle), and Adam Gallegos (far right), discuss microphone placement for the next scene.

Green, his character suffering from a shoulder wound, hides from Vletas’ murderous character in the trees by the base of Hell’s Gate.

Vletas (far left) coaches Green (on his back) on the art of falling while Pardue (background) and Gallegos (with the camera) choreograph the scene.

(Pictured from left to right) Pardue, Laffin, and Gallegos turn to their scene after adjusting a blue gel on their “moonlight” source. “And action!”
