MCTV Breaking News: Bomb Threat in COMC Building

The College of Media & Communication was evacuated on Friday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported to campus police. At approximately 11:45 a.m., reports of a “bomb” were overheard in the building. Texas Tech PD was contacted immediately, and officers requested that COMC personnel clear the building. A fire alarm was activated to aid in the evacuation, and students, faculty and staff exited the building. After completing a sweep, police cleared the COMC building, and it reopened at 12:20 p.m. Tech officials are currently investigating the incident.
