Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, receives a lot of media attention because of her larger-than-life family, but, recently, the 17-year-old celebrity has been getting even more attention for her new, big, voluptuous lips.
The “Kylie Jenner Lips” have certainly become quite a phenomenon. The signature pout is all an illusion made possible by a new makeup trick: “overlining” her lips. Women all over the country have been trying to recreate the look in the last few months. Some have tried out the overlining technique, while others are using suction cups to enlarge their lips and posting the results with a #KylieJennerChallenge hashtag. So, naturally, I was curious.
The makeup trick is a lot safer than using suction cups, but I did have some questions about it. First, how do you even do that? How in the world do you make it look natural? And, how is anyone expected to eat or drink with lipstick all over your face?
Thankfully, YouTube has various step-by-step tutorial videos showing how to correctly apply your lip liner and matte lipstick in order to create full lips — just like Kylizzle. So, I decided to try it out for myself.
I enlisted Sarah Schmidt, The Hub@TTU’s enterprise editor, to embark on the Kylie Jenner challenge with me and draw some big ol’ lips on our faces.
