MCTV Newscast: 4-10

In this week’s edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Maitland Rutledge and Julia Zakrzewski have the latest look at the news, information and events happening on campus.  First, the words “big data” have become a common term in today’s society, but not everyone knows what that means. Rachel Blevins shows us how the College of Media & Communication is helping to clear up the confusion. Good Friday is celebrated by many Tech students, but for years it hasn’t been an official holiday. Reporter Janet Moreno tells us why. Also, reporter Alyssa Herzog stopped by Diversity Week to find out about a unique group that is the first of its kind on campus. Graduating seniors looking for a job may be breathing a sigh of relief this week. Reporter Lauren Locke shows us how one group helped some students figure out their futures. Later, reporter Julie Gore has an in-depth report on a department on campus that may not always be popular but is essential to keep Tech moving. If you’ve got some sweet moves that you’d like to use, reporter Dani Copeland has all the info on a group that can help you strut your stuff. In the MCTV weathercast, Laura Duclos has an update on some big changes headed to the South Plains. And in sports, Alyssa Herzog has all the latest scores and highlights from Tech athletics. All this and MUCH MORE in this week’s newscast!
