The College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech warmly welcomes Senior Business Assistant Tina Sansom. She has spent much of her career devoting herself to the university and Tech community since 2002. Sansom’s varied experience in customer appreciation, administrative support, and ability to plan and execute numerous events has fueled her desire to serve the college in this position.

Sansom began at Texas Tech working at the Teaching, Learning and Professional Development Center as a receptionist and administrative assistant for 10 years. Her duties involved providing clerical support for the 200 members in the Teaching Academy, assisting with new faculty orientation, supervising student assistants and providing administrative support to the department. Sansom also assisted with the catering of departmental events, conference planning and processing mail outs for various TLPDC seminars and workshops.

In 2013, Sansom retired from Tech to assist her husband with his growing business, Officewise Furniture & Supply, a historically underutilized business vendor for Texas Tech. She handled customer appreciation, dinner reservations in Lubbock, Amarillo and Midland, managed travel and hotel reservations, and planned various company events. Before coming to Tech, Sansom spent seven years as the sales secretary for South Plains International Trucks and worked as a library clerk at Murfee Elementary School in Lubbock.

Sansom spent many years volunteering at Lubbock Independent School District and Community Bible Study, and served as a mentor for the Mentor Tech program, a program which seeks to enhance the quality of educational experiences of students for underrepresented groups. Sansom is excited to return to Tech and looks forward to serving the College of Media & Communication.
