SarahBelle’s and STOCK: Lubbock’s Newest Boutiques

For us students, new shopping options are a rare commodity in the greater Lubbock area. While the South Plains Mall and Lubbock boutiques can usually satisfy shopping needs, it’s always nice to branch out a little. This past summer, SarahBelle’s and STOCK opened up within walking distance to campus. Both stores are ideal for the average college student and have options for every budget. Here’s a brief synopsis of each boutique and why you should check them out for your next shopping spree.

SarahBelle’s

Mother-daughter duo Stacy and Sarah Rapier run this quaint boutique located at 1217 University Ave. Seventeen-year-old Sarah, who is currently a senior in high school, went on a college tour trip to Georgia last year. While there, she discovered a store solely devoted to game-day clothes. Sarah and her parents realized there was a void to be filled back home in Lubbock. SarahBelle’s is the go-to store for all your scarlet and black clothing needs.

During football season, SarahBelle’s specializes in cute game-day wear that isn’t too pricey. All of us female Red Raiders know that it can be difficult to find the perfect shade of red and black year around. Even though SarahBelle’s advertises themselves as a game-day wear shop, the store is a must for members of student organizations like student government, President’s Select, college councils, and any other group that encourages participants to be decked out in red and black.

In addition to school spirit wear, SarahBelle’s also carries Coastal Pride — a staple frat T-Shirt brand. With the Texas Tech University versus The University of Texas at Austin game fast approaching, SarahBelle’s should definitely be added to your shopping list. In the meantime, check out their Facebook page.

STOCK

Tucked away in the shopping center behind Chili’s at 2400 Glenna Goodacre Blvd., No. 105, is the chic boutique STOCK. Many students have probably driven past STOCK multiple times on their way to friends’ apartments but were unaware the store was waiting for them. STOCK is a boutique for both sexes and offers a little bit of everything you’d ever want in a high-end boutique.

What’s so great about STOCK, though, is while every thing about the store screams high class, it offers a variety of products that won’t collectively break your bank account. I mean, let’s be honest, college students want trendy fashion without having to pay the price financially. STOCK also has a sale rack that is actually worth your attention.

In addition to popular women’s clothing brands, like Olive & Oak and Lush, STOCK also carries shoes, jewelry, handbags and other accessories. Most noteworthy are the Jon Hart-reminiscent and customizable BOULEVARD bags as well as the handcrafted Bourbon & Bowties jewelry line. In addition, of course, STOCK has jumped on the classic fashion bandwagon by carrying Lilly Pulitzer and Southern Marsh. The store also carries the up-and-coming, preppy T-shirt brand Jadelynn Brooke, which is run by college-aged women from Austin, Texas.

Girls, don’t be afraid to take your man along to STOCK as well. He is sure to be intrigued by the Boker pocket knives collection and the variety of frat-like tees. Browse STOCK’s Facebook page.

Next time you’re bored and want to go explore Lubbock’s retail options, take a minute to stop in SarahBelle’s and STOCK. Trust me, it’ll be worth every second.
