MCTV Newscast: 10-23

In this Thursday edition of the MCTV Weekday Update, anchors Lucinda Holt and Shelby Kimball have an extended look at all the news, events and information on and around campus.  First, reporter Daniela Parraga takes us to a recent event that is helping raise awareness to bring an end to domestic violence.  Tech students are often looking for a good bargain, and Lucinda found one of the best just a few blocks from campus.  Also, reporter Jason Pearson took a trip to East Lubbock where one group of organizations is trying to help the less fortunate.  The gay marriage debate recently had another look by the Supreme Court.  Reporter Janet Moreno caught up with some students to get their reaction to the historic decision.  Later in MCTV Sports, Whitney Ford has a wrap up of all the action as well as a look at the weekend ahead in Tech athletics.  An October fog greeted students for one of the first times this semester, but is this an ominous sign of colder temperatures to come?  Weather specialist Carly Smith is in the studio with a look at your weekend forecast.  And reporter Cody Empkey took a trip to the Garden and Arts Center where a special holiday tradition left visitors feeling a little spooked.  All this and more in today’s newscast.
