Intern Roulette

Finding an internship is a total gamble.

There are good internships and there are bad internships, it’s all about finding the right one for you. A part of finding a suitable internship is knowing what you want to do with your life, which can be easier said than done.

Sometimes it’s best just to roll the dice and see what you find. Who knows? They say any work experience is good experience, if you put yourself out there you might just find what you’re looking for.

I’ve spent the last six months interning at Amusement Park Recording studios. Growing up in Austin I spent years surrounded by musicians, and yet, after many failed attempts to hone my own musical talents; I still cannot play an instrument. Nevertheless, my infatuation with music has led me to the ground floor of its production.

The studio owner, Scott Faris, took me in as a brand manager tasked with running social media and discovering new local artists. I’ve had my fair share of internships but working at the Amusement Park has been a life-changing experience. I had the opportunity to work with some truly amazing talent, and I can honestly say that I found what I was looking for.
