#ManCrushMonday Etiquette

We all know those cute hashtags that have taken over our social media. You’ve got #ThrowbackThursday, #FlashbackFriday, #SelfieSaturday/Sunday for the self-absorbed duck-faced people of our time, #WomanCrushWednesday and my topic for today #ManCrushMonday.

There is a certain etiquette that should be followed when using this particular hashtag and that is, you should only use your boyfriend once before it is deemed inappropriate. I will want to hunt you down and beat you with a life-size poster cutout of his photo.

Ladies and gentlemen, trust me, I get it. You want to express your love for him and the best way for our generation to do that is through meaningless hashtags that you secretly hope will equal into a billion double taps from your followers and a consequential #WomenCrushWednesday from him two days later.

Call me Bitter Betty but frankly this single lady thinks it’s high time you find another man crush to use on Instagram. Here are some examples accepted by most of society.

1) Kliff Kingsbury. Use him often.

2) Anyone recently in the news. For example, if your favorite singer or boy band just released an album and it broke sales records, then you are allowed to use him or them as your man crush subject. I personally tend to use my favorite politicians who have been in the news that week.

3) Basically anything with male parts that will keep you from using your boyfriend for the sixth week in a row. I don’t care if it’s your pet, just please stop showing us different poses of your boyfriend. He’s not a model nor eye candy.

I hope we all learned something today.
