On Tuesday afternoon Lubbock Animal Control said an injured mule deer stumbled through parts of downtown Lubbock and was euthanized.
George Torres, Lubbock Services official, said the animal was injured with a broken jaw. He said authorities aren’t sure how the deer sustained the injuries before animal control personnel arrived and captured the 150-pound buck.
Animal control officials said the year-old deer was euthanized after it was shot with a tranquilizer dart while it was running through the Depot Entertainment District.
