Scramble To Summer Fitness

Here at The Hub, we try to keep a handle on our fitness and health. Our sports director, Morgan Crump, is a licensed Turbo Kick instructor and our social media director, Claudia Tristán, is a certified Zumba instructor. In the spirit of spring break and summer, they will be here giving you tips and advice to help you get your dream bod.

Join them every week and let them know how their advice works for you.

Warning: Morgan and Claudia come from a tough exercising background. Morgan’s dad is a police and SWAT officer and Claudia’s dad is a lieutenant colonel in the ARMY, so if you expect some frilly, fluffy advice on how to lose weight, then this is not the place for you. They will push you hard to get you where you want to be. They want to see you succeed, so expect a lot of tough love from these fiery fitness instructors!

  1. To improve the effectiveness of your stretches, adjust the amount of time you hold your stretches to account for your age. Why? As you age, your muscles lose pliability, so you need to spend more time stretching them. The recommended duration for people under 40 years old is 30 seconds, while people over 40 years old should hold stretches for twice as long.
