Flower Fire and Sexual Assualt: Campus Crime Report

Crime reports released by the Texas Tech Police Department for March 26, 2013.

  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated theft, which occurred on the south outdoor side of Gates Residence Hall. An unsecured backpack, purse and their contents were taken
  • A Texas Tech Officer documented a small fire, which occurred on the Southwest Corner of the Media and Communications building.  A cigarette started a small fire in a flower bed.
  • A Texas Tech Officer arrested a student for possession of marijuana and one instanter Lubbock County citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, following observed suspicious activity in the Zone 4-P parking lot. The student was transported to the Lubbock County Jail and his vehicle was left legally parked.
  • A Texas Tech Officer investigated an attempted sexual assault by an acquaintance, which occurred at Talkington Residence Hall. A non-student was released pending the filing of charges with the Lubbock County District Attorney’s Office for attempted sexual assault.  The non-student was arrested for public intoxication and two outstanding Lubbock County warrants and transported to the Lubbock County Jail.
